چکیده

Precipitation and in particular rain present a random medium with constituent particles having dimensions comparable to the wavelength at millimeter-wave frequencies. Due considerable scattering of waves from such particles, significant signal attenuation phase front aberration can take place which are important factors that must be considered modern communication system or radar design. This paper presents fast accurate numerical method for coherent modeling wave propagation media, like rain. In this approach, is divided into sufficiently large finite slabs each slab modeled as network multiple input/output ports where represent rays different polarizations propagating directions entering leaving slabs. The cascaded networks used find response any arbitrary source. proposed considers among all scatterers thus entire physics wave-particle interactions accounted for. addition, model both mean fluctuating parts medium. To demonstrate applicability method, it calculation specific media function rates frequency within band. results show good match available data literature.

Localization of Rain and Its Effect on Propagation in Tokyo Tech Millimeter-wave Model Network

Millimeter wave band is still under exploited compared to the microwave band and it can be a potential frequency band for resolving the spectrum congestion. Therefore, millimeter-wave networks are undergoing intensive development to meet the necessity for high speed wireless data transmission. However, millimeter-wave band is largely affected by attenuation due to rain. While calculating link b...

Wave Propagation in Random Waveguides with Long-Range Correlations

In this paper we consider an acoustic waveguide with random fluctuations of its sound speed profile. These random perturbations are assumed to have long-range correlation properties. In waveguides a monochromatic wave can be decomposed in propagating modes and evanescent modes, and the random perturbation couples all these modes. Using asymptotic analysis of the modecoupling mechanism we give a...

Propagation modelling of bistatic scattering of isolated trees for micro- and millimeter wave urban microcells

An analytical model based on the theory of the Radiative Energy Transfer (RET) is used to predict the bistatic scattering pattern of single trees. A set of propagation measurements were designed and carried out at microand millimeter wave frequencies to characterise the re-radiation functions of single trees modelled by simpler scattering functions, which may be predicted qualitatively from the...
